Make-ahead friendly. Assemble the night before, refrigerate, and bake in the morning.

Comfort food at its best. Creamy, cheesy, and satisfying—everything you want in a breakfast casserole.

Minimal prep. Just mix and bake. No complicated steps or fancy techniques.

Directions

Step 1
Gather all ingredients. Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish.

Step 2
Mix together everything but the parmesan cheese until well combined.

Step 3
Transfer to your prepared baking dish and top with parmesan.

Step 4
Bake until golden brown and bubbly, roughly 1 hour. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before slicing to allow the cheese to set.

Tips for Success

Don’t thaw the hash browns. Use them straight from the freezer! Thawed hash browns release too much moisture.

Use sharp Cheddar. Sharp Cheddar has more flavor than mild. Don’t skimp on the cheese quality!

Dice the ham small. Smaller pieces distribute better throughout the casserole.

Make it ahead. Assemble the casserole the night before, cover tightly with foil, and refrigerate. Bake fresh in the morning (add 10-15 minutes to bake time if baking from cold).

Let it rest before serving. This helps the casserole set and makes it easier to cut clean portions.

Check for doneness. The casserole should be bubbly around the edges and golden on top. If the top browns too quickly, tent with foil.

Use leftover holiday ham. This is the PERFECT recipe for using up Christmas or Easter ham!

Double the recipe for a crowd. Use two 9×13 pans or one large roasting pan for bigger gatherings.

Storage & Reheating

Refrigerate: Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Reheat: Reheat individual portions in the microwave for 2-3 minutes, or reheat the whole casserole covered with foil in a 350°F oven for 20-25 minutes.

Freeze (unbaked): Assemble the casserole, cover tightly with plastic wrap and foil, and freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before baking.

Freeze (cooked): Freeze cooked casserole portions in airtight containers for up to 1 month. Reheat from frozen in the microwave or oven.
